Thank you for your interest in Springwood School. We welcome applications from students around the world. Springwood is both a boarding school for students in grades 9 through 12 and day school for students in K4 through 12.

Founded in 1970, Springwood has a forty-six year tradition of excellence in independent college preparatory education. We invite you to explore our website. Application, Registration, Housing, and Activities Fees that reserve space at a SAIS-SACS Accredited, SEVIS Certified, and multiple AISA Blue Ribbon and President’s Award winning school and residential facility.

During the school week, students have a varied after school programs that incorporate fun, rest, activities, household chores and homework. In the afternoons, students are encouraged to participate in school-sponsored athletics, fine arts programs, clubs or extracurricular activities. On the weekends, Springwood staff coordinates trips to the grocery store, convenience store, bank, post office and local cafes and eateries. Also on the weekend, students enjoy a variety of exciting, enriching, or relaxing activities and excursions.

Centrally located in the Southeast region of the United States, our community includes the cities of Lanett and Valley, Alabama and West Point, GA. The area is located on Interstate 85, convenient to three major urban centers: Atlanta (northeast), Birmingham (northwest) and Montgomery (southwest). Recreation activities in and around our immediate community are wide reaching.

Our temperate southern climate means year-round outdoor opportunities. Our average winter daily temperature is in the 60s, in summer, the 80s. Outdoor opportunities include the Chattahoochee River, the 27,000-acre West Point Lake, the Point University Golf Course and the Valley Community Center. Biking, canoeing, fishing and kayaking in lush settings are available for weekend enjoyment.

Just a short drive away to the south is Auburn University, home to some of the best Southeastern Conference (SEC) sporting events. Many restaurants and retail shops are located throughout the area. Other nearby attractions include Lake Harding, Callaway Gardens, Pine Mountain Wild Animal Park, multiple museums and attractions in LaGrange, GA, Roosevelt State Park in Warm Springs, Chewacla State Park, Lake Martin and Atlanta Braves, Hawks and Falcons professional sports.

3 Ways To Apply:
International Admissions Checklist
  • Please email all documents to

  • Submit completed Online Application and non-refundable application fee of $75.

  • Download and sign the Authorization for Release of Educational Records. Springwood requires transcripts for the current year and previous two years of school translated into English. Applicant may give the form directly to his/her current school.

  • Copy of birth certificate.

  • Copy of a page in passport that shows applicant’s full name, photograph, and expiration date.

  •  Copy TOEFL iBT scores  (IELTS, OOPT, or other standardized English test will be accepted).

  • Download and forward Recommendation Forms to applicant's current Math and English teachers.

  • Copy of Parent's Income Statement certified by a bank.

The Springwood International Admissions Committee will review student applications as soon as all application documents are received.  Applicants will be promptly notified of the Admissions Committee's decision on acceptance and a Skype interview will be scheduled if needed.

International students who are accepted by Springwood School will be issued a Form I-20 by the school. This will allow the student to interview for a F1 visa at the US Embassy or Consulate in their home country.
